NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
What does the qualification cover?
The NEBOSH National General Certificate covers the main legal requirements for health and safety in the UK, identification and control of workplace hazards, and the practical application of this knowledge. No previous health and safety knowledge is required but candidates should note the assessment includes a requirement to write a short report.
Who should attend?
Persons who have responsibilities for the day to day control of health and safety and have duties to assist in the management of health and safety.
Aim and Objectives
On completion of the training persons attending will have the skills and knowledge to identify procedures and system within their organisation to minimise the risk to persons within the organisation and the skills to develop safe working procedures.

- Manual and mechanical handling hazards and control
- Work equipment hazards and control
- Fire hazards and control
- Chemical and biological health hazards and control
- Physical and psychological health hazards and control
- Construction activities - hazards and control
Unit NGC3: Health and Safety Practical Application
